Velammal Main Campus, Mugappair organized 34th Vallal Pandidurai Competition to enrich the glorified classical Tamil language on 31st August, 2019. This event has been celebrating this day successfully for the past 33 years. Around 250 leading schools across Chennai took part in this prestigious competition. About 3000 students participated in various competitions comprising of Oratorical, Essay writing, Drawing, Music and Dance Competition (bharatanatyam) that will reflect Tamil heritage and culture. Eminent judges judged the performance of the participants. Cash prizes worth Rs. 3 lakhs will be awarded to the deserving candidates along with a rolling trophy and certificates. Sahaana on 25th March 2018 performed in the program called "Moondram Sakthi" - a get together of many social service organizations at one place to discuss, to promote and make people realize the real power of people organized by Nallor vattam run by Mr Balasubramaniam Sahaana who had won "Yuva Ratna" award from Sudesi Magazine in the past was also invited by Mr Murali of the magazine and was asked to perform a inspirational song. SAHAANA WON FIRST PRIZE IN SANGRAHA CULTURAL TRUST's KALAVEDHI Competition Sangraha Cultural Trust conducted a Bharatanatyam Competition on 26th February 2021 called Kalavedhi - (the first competition on stage after Pandemic) at Bharat Kalachar Hall Tirumalai Pillai Road Chennai and Sahaana won the First prize in Senior category. The competition was judged by great Bharatanatyam Exponents Sri Swamimalai Suresh and Dr. Radhika Vairavelan.
